LensWork Extended #74As an alternative to publishing photography in print, the advantages of electronic publication are numerous — for example, an affordable publishing budget, an incredibly low per-unit cost, easy distribution, and the inclusion of multimedia components. And unlike paper-based publications, PDF publishing offers — for all practical purposes — unlimited space accommodating even the largest projects without busting the budget.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the process of building and publishing your photography project as an Acrobat PDF publication.

This is a demonstration-oriented workshop, not a "hands-on" experience. However, if you'd like, you are welcome to bring your laptop and follow along with the demonstrations. Each participate will be provided a disc with relevant sample files, templates, and useful presets.

Please note that this workshop will assume that you have some computer skills and experience. This is not an "introduction to computers" type workshop. We will assume some familiarity with Photoshop. Experience with layout software (particularly InDesign) or even Acrobat will be a plus, but not a requirement. The workshop will be taught via projectioin screen via PC computers using InDesign (CS3), Photoshop (CS3) and Acrobat version 8. If you are using CS2 software, Mac computers, or Acrobat 7 you will have no difficulty following along. There is not much functional difference between these variants.
